Rethink Pink...

{Life in Pop}

Alas I can follow up about the event from Thursday. I wanted to write about it on Friday but was struck with a cold over the weekend. With severe cabin fever from staying indoors, while San Francisco was looking more beautiful than ever, I decided to wake up early and walk down to Union Square to sit at a cafe to work on this posting.

The SF20/21 was amazing. Everyone had such a great time and the booths were beyond creative and were nothing short of spectacular. There were definitely quite a few that stood out to me, but somehow, and thankfully, I managed to snap some photos of some beautiful pieces I found in between chatting and eating way too many yummy hors d'oeuvres all night.

For the event, I wore a gorgeous pink tulip dress. A big change for me, but I had fun with it. When it comes to a color like this, I always prefer bold hues. This really was the perfect shade and it received such a great response.

{Right before the event. I was going with the theme, can you tell? Dress by Zara}
{I dressed it up with my Vince Camuto cuff, Roberta Chiarella emerald green ring, and lace ankle boots.}
{Stanlee Gatti's 21 Pop exhibition I talked about Thursday}
{I fell in love with this Almond Hartzog tufted chair}
{I love how this showroom's logo is displayed}
{Beautiful Lilies made up the center pieces for the show}
{Vintage shoe molds}
{Loved the different objects but especially the horse painting from Amarcord}
{Grey Goose; just one of the many sponsors. Very cool ice sculpture}

It was hard because there were so many images to pick from, but I really tried to narrow it down. Even so, I am happy to be able to share....

SF20 here I come!

Ok all you creative/designers/avant-gardists/just lovers of art etc.; the SF20/21 is here! I'm. Very. Excited. The show features 40 of the most prominent 20th century dealers from the U.S. and Europe. Best part of all? I'm going to the preview Gala tonight, benefiting SFMOMA, which meeeaaannss that we'll be able to view the objects before the public! Perhaps some shopping may be involved.

This is the 4th annual show but what I am most excited about is Stanlee Gatti's 21POp exhibition (just one of the many amazing people who will be in attendance). This is my first time going to it, but I'll be sure to keep you posted tomorrow with images and stories from the event! Oh, and my outfit is planned accordingly. ;) winK!

Coup d'Etat + CA Homes

{Robert Haussmann light fixture...um ginormous}

San Francisco's Design District is home to some of the most beautiful and unique showrooms/galleries you can find; which equals to making my job very fun to go everyday.

I recently went to an opening Coup d'Etat and California Homes were hosting, and even though I've been to Coup's showroom several times, it's never a dull moment. As always it was a fun party, entertaining crowd, and they even had a photo booth going. I might later share with you the one I took with my bosses. Hilarious.

Here are some of my exquisite finds from this eventful night.

{Water buffalo}
{LOVE full scale head of David}
{Horn light fixture}
{Industrial sphere chandelier}
{Somewhat phallic sculpture. Please note the chair beside it for scale}

A Real Snake-Charmer

I have always been a fan of Vince Camuto's work and recently discovered his new jewelry collection that I am absolutely in love with.

I was particularly fond of his new bangles. They are not over-sized but rather more slim-fitting which makes it look more like a cuff. And if you have small wrists like I do, you won't have to worry about them sliding down to your knuckles....like all my other bangles do.

In addition to their fine craftsmanship, they come in  genuine leather, calf hair, and snakeskin. Don't worry...all animal cruelty free. ;)

{I love mine.... and these happen to be on special}

Nautical Frenzy

I promise you there is nothing more soothing than spending the day out in the water and taking in the views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the sailboats, the seals taking a swim, and the rare turquoise waters that sometimes reveal themselves.

Only in San Francisco do you see hot summer days and cloudy cold weather within two hours of each other. So when we see the sun come out, we put on our nautical outfits, and take advantage.

With our summer approaching (yes, ours here is September/October) I will hopefully get to do more of this....
